Saturday 21st January

Sovereign Hill, Ballarat, Victoria

Whilst we're not holding an open day at linux.conf.au 2012, we've got some great plans for things to do on the Saturday following the conference so don't plan on leaving Ballarat too soon!

Geeks take the Goldfields

As an unofficial part of the conference, we are planning to organise a discount group entry fee to Sovereign Hill. This will hopefully include a 'behind the scenes' tour.

We swear by the Southern Cross to stand truly by each other and fight to defend our rights and liberties!1
-- Oath sworn by diggers at Bakery Hill, 29 November 1854

1. Historical note: It is not known if the diggers' Oath of 1854 specifically swore to fight for rights and liberties implicitly changed from GPLv2 to GPLv3, but they would most certainly have wanted to make their voices heard.

So stick around on Saturday to soak up the history of the Goldfields. Our plans include a community picnic lunch Sovereign Hill, starting at 12:30pm.

Stay tuned for updates on the activities for Saturday.
